Without Cantik :(

Walt: write a report / narrative.

In Wellington Zoo a Sumatran tiger that was put down arrived from Burger’s zoo in the Netherlands. The staff took care of her for a very long time because Sumatran tigers that live in the wild live until 10 years but Cantik lived for 21 years. Then she died. Cantik suffered malignant adrenal tumors and severe arthritis.

The Sumatran tiger have short powerful legs, huge paws and a large powerful jaw. Tigers fail at  least 90% of the time to catch their prey when they are hunting. Cantik’s name really means ‘beautiful’ in Indonesian language. Like a human fingerprint, no two tigers have the same pattern of stripes on their coats. There are only a few hundred Sumatran tigers left in the world. If we do not look after them right then their species will be extinct. They mostly eat water buffalo, ambo deer, buffalo, wild pigs and antelope.

I think that Sumatran tigers should receive euthanize medication so that they can die painless. Instead of them dying with a lot of pain and for them to go through all their stress. Wellington zoo should put on a show all about Cantik, so that everyone can remember Cantik. The main thing I will miss about Cantik will be her name.
